Get your Prophet 21 system ready for Epicor's cloud

Epicor has announced that new Prophet 21 features will ship only in its cloud after release 2028.1. Before you move, find out which rules, reports, integrations and SQL dependencies need work. Our fixed-fee readiness audit gives you that list and a written quote to fix it, with direct engineering at $100 per hour and managed support at $950 per month for 5 hours.

What the readiness audit covers

We go through your system with your team and record each item that depends on how P21 runs today.

AreaWhat we inventory
CustomizationsScreen changes, user-defined fields and custom code, with who uses each one.
DynaChange business rulesEvery registered rule, what triggers it and whether it reads or writes the database directly.
Crystal and SSRS reportsForms and reports in use, where each gets its data and which query SQL Server directly.
Direct SQL dependenciesViews, stored procedures, triggers, SQL Agent jobs and outside tools that connect to the P21 database.
IntegrationsEach connection, the method it uses (API, file or direct SQL) and the system on the other end.
Data cleanupInactive items, customers and vendors, stale open transactions and duplicate records worth fixing before the move.

You get a written report that rates each item as moves as is, needs rework or can retire, a review session with your team, and a fixed quote for the rework if you want us to do it.

Keep reporting and rules working after the move

On premises, many P21 reports, rules and outside tools read or write the SQL Server database directly. In Epicor's cloud, the database you can query directly outside the application is a read-only replica.

Anything that writes to the database directly, or depends on your own views, procedures or triggers inside it, needs a supported path such as Business Rules, the P21 API, the Stored Procedure Executor, Automation Studio or SQL-based YDBC rules. We confirm what your subscription allows, then map each rule, report and integration to that path before we quote a rebuild.

How the audit runs

  1. Kickoff and access

We agree the scope, the fee and read-only access with your IT team.

  2. Inventory

We catalog rules, reports, SQL objects, integrations and data issues, and confirm who uses each one.

  3. Review

We walk your team through the findings and agree what to keep, rework or retire.

  4. Report and quote

You receive the written report and a fixed quote for the rework.

The audit is a fixed fee agreed before we start. See how we price it.

Questions buyers ask

When do we have to move?

Epicor has announced 2028.1 as the final on-premises Prophet 21 feature release, tentatively scheduled for May 2028, with Active Support for that release through June 30, 2029 and Sustaining Support from July 1, 2029. Your timing depends on your current release, your support agreement and the work the audit finds.

Epicor offers its own readiness assessment. Why use yours?

Epicor's Ascend program includes tools that generate a readiness assessment. Our audit is independent: we review your rules, reports and SQL dependencies with your team, and the report is yours to use with Epicor or any partner.

Will our Crystal reports work in the cloud?

It depends on how each report gets its data. The audit lists every report in use, its data source and whether it needs a rebuild.

Do you need access to our production system?

We need read-only access to P21 and the database, approved by your IT team. We change nothing during the audit.

Can you do the rework the audit finds?

Yes. We quote the rule, report, integration and data cleanup work as fixed-fee projects. The move into Epicor's cloud itself runs through Epicor and its migration program.

What does the audit cost?

It is a fixed fee agreed before we start, based on the size of your system. Our pricing page explains how we quote.
