Nick ran Prophet 21 as a system administrator in wholesale distribution before consulting on it, SQL Server, DynaChange rules, Crystal and SSRS, and the API surface, learned from the seat that has to live with the result. He has since led implementations, migrations, and rescues across both Prophet 21 and Kinetic, and builds the tooling that makes Lumina's delivery fast.
The bench
For financial process design, project management, and specialist workloads we work with a named bench of independent consultants, engaged per project, introduced by name, never anonymous. When a project needs a second or third chair, you meet the person before they touch your system.
Administrators first, consultants second
Lumina started inside the systems it now serves. Before we consulted on Prophet 21, we ran it, the item master, the pricing service, the nightly jobs, the reports the owner reads on Monday morning. That seat teaches you things a certification never will: which imports silently corrupt data, which settings can't be walked back, and what a go-live feels like from the side that has to live with it.
The habits stuck. We verify before go-live, load in dependency order, diagnose before we quote, and put every material decision in writing. Not because a methodology slide says to, because we've been the ones cleaning up when nobody did.
Along the way we built software to make our own delivery faster, extraction tooling, verification harnesses, and the Lumina AI platform. The practice and the product sharpen each other: the software is built by people who implement ERPs for a living, and the implementations move at the speed of the tooling.
The standard
Verify before go-live
Nothing reaches Live that wasn't proven in Play. The trial balance ties, the counts match, and there's a checklist with names on it.
Load in dependency order
Accounts before suppliers, suppliers before items, items before open documents. Skipping the order is how projects lose weeks.
Diagnose before quoting
We find the mechanism before we price the fix. A quote without a diagnosis is a guess with a signature line.
Write it down
Decisions, scope, reconciliation, status, in writing, every time. If it isn't written down, it didn't happen.
Engineers who verify
